Job Opening
We were unhappy to learn that Kathleen Walker will be leaving Hoffmaster's in October to move closer to her mother who is elderly. It has been a wonderful thing having Kathleen here. She started out as a bookkeeper/parts manager and ended up being a bookkeeper/warranty claim manager/F&I salesperson/ boat salesperson. She sure knows how to stay busy! We wish her the best of success and if you are interested or know someone who is interested in joining the team please contact us.

Upcoming Events
Don't forget about the Dock Crawl sponsored by Northern Virginia Boaters this coming Saturday with the Bloody Mari Band from 6-9pm. Sure to be a huge good time!
The OYC will sponsor a Crab Feast on October 1st from Noon-4pm.
Customer Appreciation Day will be the Saturday after the Annapolis Show, October 22.

Katrina
In the interest of pitching in a little, Hoffmaster's has taken the policy of charging for fuel based on our cost. Those who came down on Labor Day weekend to find 93 octane gas selling for $2.99 already know about this policy. We sold out of that and went into last weekend at $3.559. Problem was the pump wouldn't go over $3.00 (we're waiting on parts for MIFCO to make the conversion) and customers had a problem computing the dollar amount so we're simplifying to $3.55 or whatever the average of the next price is and this one. We're waiting for the next truck as of this writing to find out.

Other News
You may have noticed the trailers in the parking lot. Over the next 15 months we'll spend in excess of $500,000 on maintenace to B and C piers in the form of pile jackets—to keep the piling holding the roofs up—roof repairs, rebordering of the parking area to get 2 lines of parking between B&C piers, and placing a boardwalk from B pier to the launch ramp. There will also be other improvements during that time. It's part of a master plan that will encompass the entire marina over the next 4 years. Some may wonder how this will affect dock rates—they will go up but rest assured, not as much as some. Just like the fuel prices.

Next update will cover boat manufacturer's meetings.
