Summer 2007, Part II
Well, we all hope the fuel pumps are finally up running on August 12th we’re down to the electrician wiring the new fuel house. We’re getting the pier lighting hooked back up bit by bit and the pile driver swears he’ll have the last few driven and be out of here next week.
Newcomer’s Cruise
Jeff evidently did an outstanding job for the boats that went to Port Tobacco and stayed at Goose Bay Marina. Here’s Alan Shark’s (Captain of the Chaparral “Grateful Shark”) take on it:
"The Goose Bay trip was simply fantastic—extremely well thought out and planned. I was blown away by the professional set-up that Jeff did. The tents were positioned not only at a great location (to the music and the heads) but also the Hoffmaster banner was out in front so you couldn’t miss our group. Jeff was at the radio when we arrived and helped everyone dock and get their lines in order. The food was fantastic and there was plenty to drink as well...the conversations were fun and everyone loves the Hoffmaster experience in purchasing and maintaining their boats—could not have been more positive! Thank you so much for the hospitality. You are fortunate to have Jeff on your team as he did an outstanding job!"
Referral Program
This month all undesignated referrals will go to Operation BBQ. Mike Hedrick, owner of the semi world famous Pit Pirates catering company, is setting up a barbeque on August 15th at Walter Reed for 500 wounded soldiers and their families. Hoffmaster’s Marina is already a proud sponsor of this event but Mike has an overwhelming task. Check out his website at www.mikehedrick.com for more details or to make a donation.
More Travel Notes
On July 4th “Grateful Shark” and “007” (my demonstrator) visited Coles Point for a couple of days. An 82 mile trip like this down river gave me a real opportunity to run my 350 Signature through her paces: not only did we encounter stiff breezes on the way down but we also had to determine if the wet bar could handle margaritas, martinis AND manhattans. The pool at Coles Point is in great shape and half in shade so Olivia could spend hours there. Fireworks on the beach were great. The restaurant was remodeled into AC’s sports bar during the offseason. Although the owners were having some health problems that made service iffy during the week it was spot on for Friday night. Next time we will probably pack a few extra provisions just to be on the safe side. Everyone's attitude there is great.
