Another update from our family members
in the field, namely John Hernandez:
Yes Joe, pop tarts, baby wipes and magazines
seem to be the favs.
The Marines wanted me to reiterate that
they are "very grateful." That is coming straight from
them. Some of them receive very little or no mail at all so the
only time they get something is when I pass out the Marina care
packages.
Please pass along my greetings and appreciation
to everyone there.
john
We plan to keep sending stuff as long as
he's there! We had stopped because John was involved in some
of the actions in Iraq and we wanted to make sure he was still
getting packages. Thanks to everyone's generosity he's even been
handing packages to some of the army guys
Don't miss the Anniversary Party! May 8th 12-4 rain or shine! We've got a 5 piece
bluegrass band lined up and I really hope the weather's good
because I want to set up outdoor activities. Anyway keep the
date in mind.
About dock hoses, lines, shore cords,
etc. The yard should not be borrowing
anything from a slip and neither should slip holders. Hoses,
etc are the personal property of the slipholders. We've had some
incidents of people's hoses ending up at other slips. If this
happens contact the sales office. From time to time the marina
may plug into your slip for a delivered boat that isn't staying.
We promise to keep such things to a minimum but if you feel you
are bearing an unnecessary burden please let us know.
There will be more Coast Guard Patrols further and further down river as a result of
Homeland Security. A courtesy exam sticker will be a sign to
the Coast Guard that your boat is compliant and may shorten or
eliminate the boarding.
