Spring 2007
Well Spring has officially sprung! Chaparral and Cobalt are all but sold out for the model year but we have plenty of inventory in most cases to handle the customer’s needs. The boat shows as a whole were slightly up from last year sales-wise. Attendance seemed the same or a little lighter at DC—Chantilly, for some reason, was heavier. We received notice from the DC show not only of the dates for the 2008 February show but also for the first ever in the water show at the National Harbor in September 2008! That’s got us excited, not just because of the boat show but also because it reminds us that the National Harbor will be up and running sometime next year. What a great new opportunity for us boaters. There will be restaurants, transient slips and hotels. Check it out at www.nationalharbor.com.
Spring Kickoff party
Sorry if you missed the Spring Kickoff party! Everybody had a terrific time. We cooked up a storm and had a great turnout of customers past, present and future. Here’s DB waiting for his balloon animal.
Around the Marina
The major work to be done this spring is starting as I write this. Marine Works is replacing the piling on the walkouts for B and C pier, the crossover piers that connect C pier to D piers and run along B and C piers and all of the piling inside the sportboat slip area as well as a smashed piling on D pier and the sheared piling at 24B. The estimated cost will be $150,000 and we hope to have the work completed by mid-April.
We’ll also be repairing C pier roof from winter storm damage and repainting the store and showroom. The travelift will be down for a few days starting approximately April 11th for refurbishing.
The Paradise Grille snack bar will open Saturdays and Sundays starting April 14.
